I am based on the Somerset / Dorset border and specialise in child portraiture, weddings and social documentary photography. On this website you can see a selection of my photographs from the last few years. All the images are available for purchase - please contact me for details.
With my portrait photography I'm looking to capture some of the person, or the relationships between a group of people. I hope that my work reflects this.
My wedding photograhpy reflects my interests over the last 30 years, including portraits, landscape, fine art, architecture and social documentary.
I think it is important to get to know the couple at a 'recce' meet, and then share the whole day with them, from the bride's preparations through to the first dance.
Social Documentary covers a wide range of themes and areas of life. I have absorbed peoples' stories along the way, for example circus performers rehearsing their act, and the plight of Tibetan refugees.
I have always had an interest in travelling and exploring other cultures. I have a particular interest in India and Nepal, and in the Tibetan communities living there. I am fascinated both by the people, but also by the quality of the light.
I have a wide range of interests in other areas of photography, both traditional and contemporary. I have experimented with the earliest photographic techniques of calotypes and cyanotypes. I also enjoy using digital photography and manipulation.
